Over the years, Cato has worked with a number of talented directors like BAFTA-nominated Jennifer Sheridan, Emmy-winning Martin Williams, BAFTA-nominated Tim Kirby and Chema Ramos on their films. Each of them are unique in their approach and style of filmmaking meaning his scores cover a variety of genres. His main strengths fall into two distinct categories: neoclassical / cinematic emotive and quirky scores.

Some of these projects include films like Acoustic Kitty (a dark comedy set in the 1950’s), The Super Recogniser (Science Fiction), House at the End of the Street (thriller), Rose: A Love Story and Firstborn (both horrors). He has also done a few no-dialogue comedies like Love at First Sight and 2 by 2 which have continued to win in numerous festivals around the world.
